510lb ft from the factory. The torque record stood for decades.
Buick rated the Stage 1 455 at 360bhp and 510lb ft, the latter being the highest torque figure of any American production car of the era and almost certainly an understatement. Only 678 GSX cars were built in 1970, in Saturn Yellow or Apollo White only. This is a Saturn Yellow Stage 1 with the black striping, bonnet-mounted tachometer, front spoiler and rear wing. It does not shout like a Mopar. It simply arrives first.
